A stunning rabona goal by Nuno Santos was the highlight of Sporting Lisbon’s win against Boavista in the Portuguese Primeira Liga on Monday
Left-wing back Nuno Santos scored the stunning goal in the 17th minute to open the score for his team.
It all happened when Sporting’s Marcus Edwards and Youssef Chermiti won the ball inside their opponent’s half and then combined to forge an attacking move.
Edwards tried finding Chermiti with a cut back but the ball beat everyone before landing on Nuno Santos’ feet who was ready to execute the finish in the Estádio José Alvalade.
His top-corner finish will surely be a contender for the FIFA Puskas Award.

Sporting went on to win the game by a margin of 3-0 win.
Santos’ finish is reminiscent of Erik Lamela’s effort against Arsenal in 2021, which won the Puskas Award that year.
